What It Does:
- Extract SLD Data: Use a Google AI Studio (free) prompt to convert graphical SLD PDFs into structured JSON data.
- Build ETAP Models: Transform the JSON data into ETAP-compatible elements using the provided Python script, ready for integration into your ETAP environment.
- Simplify Modeling Workflows: Focus on engineering insights while this toolkit handles tedious data structuring and input.
Key Features:
- PDF-to-JSON Conversion: Leverage the capabilities of Google AI Studio to extract data from SLD PDFs with precision.
- ETAP-Compatible Data: The JSON output includes all basic nameplate information, such as amps, voltage, and short-circuit ratings (if present on the SLD).
- Automated Element Creation: Generate ETAP elements for buses, transformers, cables, and more, streamlining the building process.
- Cables Placement Supported: Includes functionality to place cables in the ETAP model, though it does not connect elements due to current ETAP API limitations.
- Comprehensive Instructions: Clear, step-by-step guidance to help you configure tools and execute the process efficiently.
System Requirements:
- A Google AI Studio account (free tier supported).
- Python 3.7 or higher installed on your system.
- Basic familiarity with running Python scripts.
- ETAP Software Version 24.0.1 (tested with full functionality; limited support for version 22.5).
- A valid ETAP API license or equivalent software access.
What's Included:
- Google AI Studio Prompt: Pre-designed prompt for extracting JSON data from SLD PDFs.
- Python Script: A ready-to-run script for transforming JSON data into ETAP-ready elements.
- Setup and Usage Guide: Detailed instructions for installation, configuration, and execution.
Format: Software Tool
File Size: 50MB
Important Notes:
- ETAP-Specific Data: Elements created in the ETAP model include basic nameplate information (e.g., amps, voltage, and short-circuit ratings) provided this data is included in the SLD. Manufacturer part numbers or trip units are not generated, as the ETAP API does not currently support this level of detail.
- Connection Limitations: While cable placement is supported, this toolkit does not connect elements together due to current ETAP API limitations.
- ETAP Software Versions: Fully compatible with ETAP version 24.0.1. Limited functionality on version 22.5.
